This is the most important question you will ever ask. Friend, to be saved means to be forgiven of your sins and guaranteed admittance into heaven when you die. The alternative is to remain condemned by your sins and to be punished eternally in hell fire. You must realize that getting saved does not result from anything you can do, but only by God’s grace through what Jesus Christ has already done for you.
The four things you need to realize and accept before you can get saved are:
YOU ARE A SINNER
Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
WHERE SIN CAME FROM
Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
GOD’S PUNISHMENT FOR YOUR SIN
Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Revelation 20:14-15, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
YOUR ONLY WAY OUT
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:9-10 says this, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Luke 13:3, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
If you have never repented of your unbelief in Jesus Christ and personally trusted and called upon Jesus Christ to save you, you can do so now with your own words. You must acknowledge your lost, sinful, and condemned nature, and realize that you are on the way to hell unless you repent and believe in Jesus Christ as your only Lord and Savior. Or, if you like, you can follow the sample prayer below:
“Dear Jesus: I know that I’m a sinner and if I died now in my sin, I would go to hell. Right now, by faith, I am repenting of my sin and trusting You as my personal Savior and my only hope for Heaven. Thank You for dying on the cross for me and for saving me from an eternity in hell. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!”
